Urban Trail Street Crossings

The Charlotte Pedestrian Program is leading an effort, in coordination with CATS and Charlotte Center City Partners, to improve locations where the Rail Trail crosses a city street. Improvements will vary by intersection, but may include accessibility (ADA) improvements, lighting, curb extensions, and a new crosswalk treatment for shared-use urban trails. The pilot location for this program is the intersection of the Rail Trail with Tremont Ave. and Camden Rd. Construction at that location is already underway and should be complete soon. The Urban Trails Project will also improve key street crossings of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway.
